Joining new group and sharing

I shared IMMERSION 2015 information with the new group that I joined called Gear VR

I got approved during the class time from the group I joined.

FINAL PROJECT STEP 2: MY COMPLETED IMMERSIVE LEARNING SPACE

These are the finished work in Minecraft. I was trying to make everything fit with nature, trees, water, plants, and animals.

These are the finished building from the front and the side. The other side on the back is unapproachable since I built a rock wall behind.

Interior of the building with some lights. It got too dark during the night time.

These are my finished seed growing place where people can harvest any plants for living.

The bench got bigger at the end.

This is actually the back side of my building. Right side is the wall that I built and there is a small space where the mouse is pointing. The space is for temporary storage.

Finished work of Oak tree fences.

Rich inventory

Inventory (boxes)

The building - 2350
Rock wall - 1970
Fences - 145
Plant growing - 343
Fire - 10
Rock road - 33
Trees - 240
Dirt - 450

approx. 5541

FINAL PROJECT STEP 2: BUILDING MY IMMERSIVE LEARNING SPACE

It was really hard for me to start building something in this world since I had no skills or experience in constructing a building. I decide to go with a nature learning space where the building is surrounded by huge walls of rock and trees. The whole concept was to make people sort of survive in the nature only given one wooden space with fire and seed plants.

I started out using bunch of oak wood planks for the building

I matched the fences with oak wood going along well with the building.

I started to make a small places with water and dirt so that I can plant some seeds and actual plants for the living.

I made bench for people to sit down and rest.

Making huge wall around the house was a huge work crashing and crashing.

Above screenshot is when I was almost done with making fences and oak tree floor right outside of the house.

Last ones are construction of the main house

Libraries and Museums Technology Working Group (LAM.TWG)

LAM.TWG, which is Libraries and Museums Technology Working Group has been dealing with enhancing learning environments within libraries and museums. Unlike old days with only printed books and paper notes, recent technology has provided people not only better physical learning spaces but also better learning materials through various kinds of multimedia. This multimedia includes, 3D printing, which physically generates 3D objects, virtual reality that creates realistic simulation, better pictures and videos for clear explanation and so much more. Such developing technologies enable users to be as collaborative and efficient as ever.

More specifically, libraries use the type of technology that provides collaborative working space between the library staff and relevant partners. These virtual working spaces make daily communication way easier than sending and receiving hundreds of emails or having mixed up phone calls. On the other hand, museums would use the type of technology that enhances the quality of their displays. For instance, museums would use virtual reality simulation for audiences to really experience certain topic rather than just watching and reading information. Furthermore, they can use 3D printing technology to regenerate complex objects from history for better authenticity.

Collaborative learning features not only support many institutions but also help students to have better learning experience through collaboration. It is now not a surprise that a group of students can meet in virtual world and run productive meeting using online library sources. International and native students can also share cultural differences through virtual world of pretty much anything possible or even impossible. Similarly, my class, Collaborative Computing by Professor Walsh, is also another good example of collaborative learning experience as a result of fascinating technology.

Immersive Education is an ongoing revolution in this era majorly developed by Technology Working Groups, the TWGs. The main goal of the TWGs is to develop technological materials that can lead to more efficient and entertaining outcomes in terms of learning and experiencing.

Class 7, Assignment 2: Twitter Group Messages

I first sent a group message to my team (team 4 - Jungbae Chi, Sunho Ma) to start a conversation with them privately.

I had to look up my teammates' names to choose which ones I am sending it to.

After that, I simply typed few words to start a chat.

The feature slightly resembles the message feature in iPhone.

Above two screenshots are our team discussing class material within the group message feature.

Class 7, Assignment 1: Second Life

First thing I did in Second Life is that I customized my character wondering around with my inventory options. Then I went to look for people and started multiple conversations with them. Some of them were supportive while others were not.

Customizing my character

Trying to reach out to people

I went to six different places with at least one person around. For some places, I had to wonder around looking for people.

Having another conversation with people

Places with many people were usually dance stages or huge lobbies.

I was asking for famous places but nobody answered.

The conversations people had were mostly seemingly worthless to listen because they lack flows.

This place was in the middle of mountain area.

Class 7, Minecraft: Interface Fundamentals

First five are the screenshots of me watching the Videos of Minecraft orientation. These videos provided instruction of basic controls and moves.

This is me reading documents from section 2, #3 Interface Fundamentals.

Below two are the screenshots of me playing Minecraft based on little knowledge from texts and videos.
I was trying to approach so that I can hunt that animal down.
Looking at my inventory even though I don't have s.
