On the road to mastering Facebook

Facebook allows the users to share what they have on their mind in the moment. Simply writing out what's on my mind would allow my friends read it and comment on my thoughts. For instance, I could be happy in the moment and share my excitement with my friends or I can comment on others by liking his or her thoughts.

Facebook allows users to create group pages so that the users can find groups to subscribe. Group pages are convenient because groups are secure places to post inter related pictures and posts that are only allowed to view through the page. I could make the group page of certain bc class and invite students to talk about the stuffs from our class without having to show other friends who are not in this class.

Facebook also gives the users the list of friends I might know. The list of "friends I might know" is made out of mutual friend list that the Facebook gives me the list of people who have mutual friendships and common interests. This is useful because there is always a high chances to find friends I missed to add or friends I recently met.

This is the messaging part of Facebook, where we can chat with friends who are online. The private messaging in Facebook is highly used by most of the Facebook users because it is a public chat with one another. There is no risk of showing my chats to the public unless you literally show it to them. Not only that it is way more comfortable to talk to people since it does not require any phone number or email address to talk to them in person.

Advertisement is huge in Facebook since Facebook has the biggest range of users all over the world. Related pages and actual advertisements are displayed through Facebook. Not only the real advertisement, it is not hard to make our own non-profit advertisement using Facebook. By letting others liking my post, it will appear on their friends post, which would eventually allocate to the people I do not know at all.

Playstation 4: Hardware Review

The Playstation 4, also known as PS4, is a home video game console from Sony Entertainment. The Playstation 4 was launched on 15 November 2013 in North America, and 29 November 2013 in Europe and Australia. It competes with Nintendo's Wii  and Microsoft's Xbox One, as one of the eighth generation of video game consoles.
Moving away from the more complex Cell architecture of its predecessor, the PlayStation 4 features an AMD x86-64 Accelerated Processing Unit, in hopes of attracting a broader range of developers and support for the system. The PlayStation 4's GPU can perform 1.843 teraflops with the storage size of 500G and display of HDMI. Sony calls the PlayStation 4 "the world's most powerful console". The introductory price for this console was approximately 400$.
My personal experience with Playstation consoles starts from way back when there was playstation 2. I have bought the Playstations since then and currently has the newest Playstation 4. In comparison to Xbox One, I could not find any particular field that is better than the other. However, I bought PS4 over Xbox One because I was used to using the Sony's Playstation platform and PS4 has more games available than the Xbox. Other than that the graphics look really similar and Xbox seemed to have a slight more speedy games when comparing two identical games in two different consoles.
I also thought that both consoles tend to be more of a home computer than just a home game console because newer versions give us so many computer functions such as internet browser, Netflix, Online chatting, and others.

KOAA 5: Engaging Virtual Learning Environment for La Junta Students

This article talks about a group of high school and college students in La Junta, who are trying to recreate Bent's Old Fort in virtual world. The reason those students try to create Bent's Old Fort is that the fort is a historic site which they felt it would be great if others can share it. By creating similar site in virtual world, everyone in this world can access this fort easily and freely.

However, it is not an easy task for high school students to do besides doing regular school work. They meet every Wednesday with a supervisor to step by step move forward in recreating the Fort in virtual world. The steps involve learning basic Architecture technology, mathematics, computer languages, and others. The students seemed like they are having a lot of fun doing this project and it shows potential ability of virtual world sharing history with others around the world.

Assignment 2-1: What is Immersive Education?

The video starts off by briefly explaining the overview and mission of Immersive Education. Immersive Education is mostly used by groups of people who need an easy access to talk and communicate each other. It makes learning environments in virtual world so much better for thousands of faculties, students, researchers users.

This part of video showed many students who cannot offer to visit aquarium or other important places that cost a lot. These students by using virtual world, can easily experience virtual world of those places on line without having to pay. Even though the virtual world is fiction, it is great alternatives for those who have hard time offering those opportunities.

This part of video talks about Immersive Education Certification. Professor Walsh commented on this part of video that harder level would require elements from lower level, the fundamentals. It would be great to have such certification of this advanced technology.

This part of video is toward its end where Professor Walsh is taking an Question and Answer session. People ask various kinds of questions and the most interesting one was whether the Immersive Education could be more similar to real life class experience. As time passes and technology advances, better connectivity with better platforms would make Immersive Education more convenient and similar to real life.
